Descriptions of the committees and their responsibilities can be found below.
AWARDS: Continue to enhance the awards program for the association, focusing on streamlining the submission process and showcasing the entries and winners for members to be inspired by. Responsibilities include: Review, analyze and, if applicable, update criteria for each award, judging protocols/policies and nomination forms. Provide recommendations for recognizing award winners. The committee will also be tasked with reviewing nominations to make sure criteria are met and then follow the judging protocol.
CONFERENCE PLANNING: Plan the annual conference for the association. Responsibilities include: Recommend topics, speakers and activities; work with staff to develop a program outline and conduct speaker outreach; and recommend exhibitors and sponsors.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT/MEMBERSHIP: Recommend and assist with creating professional development and networking opportunities provided through the association. Responsibilities include: Develop a webinar training schedule for 2025-2026, determine topics and learning objectives, recommend speakers, create outlines and assist in the creation of videos and webinars approved for professional development. Increase membership in the association by developing opportunities for members to get involved in the Association. Encourage new members to participate in FMCA. Contact cities not involved in FMCA and urge membership participation. Conduct and review member satisfaction surveys to ensure appropriate services are offered by FMCA.
